Five things to put on your link page first
A link page works best when it starts small. Here are the five things to put on yours first, and the one thing to leave off.
Carlos Anastacio
Most people open a new link page and try to put everything on it. That is the fastest way to confuse the person who just clicked.
Start small. These five things will do more for you than ten random links.
1. A clear photo
People trust a face. Use a real photo of you, in good light, looking at the camera.
2. One sentence about what you do
Say it the way you would say it to a neighbor. Skip the big words.
3. Your social media
Add the accounts you actually use. A few active accounts beat six empty ones.
4. Your best link first
Put the one thing you most want people to see at the top. Most people only look at the first one or two.
5. A next step
A button for your offer, your email list, or your latest video. Give people something to do.
What to leave off
Leave off anything you would not be proud to explain. If a link needs a long apology, it does not belong on the page yet.
Your next step
Build the page, send it to one friend, and ask what they would tap first. Then change one thing.
