WOAH SNAP! What’s going on, everybody? It’s your boy, Mr. Woah Snap!
Happy Mindset Monday!
Let me ask you something.
When you hear the name Michael Jordan, what comes to mind?
Basketball? Sneakers? Greatness?
When you hear Oprah Winfrey, what comes to mind?
Television? Media? Success?
What about Tyler Perry, Steve Harvey, or Denzel Washington?
Each of these individuals has built a recognizable name. Their names represent something.
But here’s what I want you to understand today.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE FAMOUS TO BE A BRAND!
That’s right!
YOU THE BRAND!
And before you start building a business, you need to start building yourself.
- Your Name Is Your First Brand
Think about it.
Before you ever started a business, joined a company, created a website, or sold your first product, you already had something valuable.
YOUR NAME!
Your name represents who you are, what you stand for, and how people remember you.
Every time you introduce yourself, shake someone’s hand, make a post on social media, or help somebody, you’re building your personal brand.
The question is:
What do people think about when they hear your name?
Do they think about someone who is dependable?
Someone who brings value?
Someone who encourages others?
Someone who keeps their word?
You see, branding isn’t just about a logo, a T-shirt, a hat, or a website.
It’s about the person behind everything.
And that person is YOU!
- Before You Build a Business, Build Yourself
One thing I’ve learned on my journey is that building a business requires more than having a great opportunity.
It requires building yourself.
Your mindset.
Your discipline.
Your confidence.
Your communication skills.
Your consistency.
You can have the greatest business opportunity in the world, but if you’re not willing to grow personally, you’re going to have challenges growing professionally.
That’s why I believe personal development and business development go hand in hand.
Sometimes we spend so much time looking for the next opportunity that we forget to work on the person who’s going to operate that opportunity.
Don’t just invest in your business. Invest in yourself!
Read something new.
Learn a new skill.
Improve your communication.
Work on your habits.
Keep your promises.
And most importantly, don’t stop believing in yourself.
Because when YOU grow, you put yourself in a better position to grow everything connected to you.
- Why I Decided to Put My Name Online
Let me share something about my personal journey.
As I continue building the WS TakeOver, I’ve realized how important it is to establish my own identity online.
That’s one reason I use JamalRogers.ws.
Through Global Domains International, I have a domain name connected to my personal identity.
And that’s important to me.
Why?
Because I don’t want my entire online identity tied to just one social media platform or one business opportunity.
I want people to recognize me, my message, and what I stand for.
Today I might be talking about entrepreneurship.
Tomorrow it might be personal development, entertainment, technology, or something that motivates somebody to make a change.
But one thing stays the same.
I’m still the brand!
That’s why I also created MrWoahSnap.com, where I can share my thoughts, experiences, business education, and personal journey.
My website is another place where people can discover who I am and what I’m building.
And that’s something I want more people to think about.
Are you building somebody else’s brand while forgetting to build your own?
- Social Media Is a Tool, but You Are the Brand
Facebook.
YouTube.
TikTok.
Instagram.
These are powerful platforms for sharing your message and connecting with people.
But remember something.
The platform isn’t your identity.
YOU ARE!
Your followers may discover you through a video, a comment, a livestream, or a social media post.
But what are you doing to help them remember you?
What message do you consistently share?
What value do you bring?
And where can people find you beyond social media?
This is why I encourage people to think about establishing their own website and online identity.
A personal domain can give people a memorable destination to learn more about you.
Use social media to introduce yourself. Use your website to give people a place to discover more about your brand.
- Your Brand Is Bigger Than Your Business
Here’s another thing I want you to understand.
Your business can change.
Your interests can change.
Your opportunities can change.
But your personal brand can continue growing through every season of your life.
Look at me.
I’m building the WS TakeOver, but I’m also building Mr. Woah Snap.
I enjoy talking about business, motivation, entertainment, branding, and helping people see possibilities for themselves.
All those things are part of who I am.
And that’s the message behind YOU THE BRAND.
You don’t have to limit yourself to one title.
You might be a parent, entrepreneur, content creator, teacher, artist, or someone who’s just getting started.
Whatever your journey looks like, you have something valuable to offer.
Don’t underestimate your story.
Don’t underestimate your experiences.
And definitely don’t underestimate your name.
- We’re Getting Ready for 2030. What Are You Building?
Now, here’s where I want to challenge everybody.
We’re closing out October 2026.
Before you know it, we’ll be stepping into 2027.
Then 2028.
Then 2029.
And here comes 2030!
I’ve been talking a lot about getting ready for the next decade because I believe we need to start making decisions today that our future selves will appreciate.
Don’t wait until January 1st to start changing your mindset.
Don’t wait until you have everything figured out to start building your identity.
And don’t wait for somebody else to recognize your value before you recognize it yourself.
You have three full calendar years ahead of you before 2030.
Imagine what you could learn.
Imagine the relationships you could build.
Imagine the habits you could change.
Imagine the person you could become.
But it starts with making a commitment to yourself.
Get in. Stay in. Stay locked in.
And remember one of my favorite messages:
DON’T WASTE YOUR 7s!
You have seven days every week. Make some of that time count toward building a better version of yourself.
- Your Assignment: Start Building YOU Today!
I don’t want you to just read this blog and move on.
I want you to take action.
Here’s your assignment for today:
- Write down your name. Think about what you want your name to represent.
- Identify three things you want people to remember about you. Maybe it’s honesty, encouragement, creativity, or leadership.
- Choose one way to improve yourself this week. Learn something, create something, or develop a better habit.
- Take a look at your online presence. Does it reflect who you are and what you’re trying to accomplish?
- Make a commitment to your future self. Decide what you want to build before 2030.
You don’t have to do everything today.
But you can do something today!
Final Thoughts: YOU THE BRAND!
Before I close, let me leave you with this.
Don’t spend your entire life helping build everybody else’s dreams while forgetting that you have dreams of your own.
Support other people.
Celebrate other people’s success.
Learn from those who have accomplished great things.
But never forget that you have a name, a story, and a purpose too.
You don’t need millions of followers to get started.
You don’t need to be famous.
And you don’t need somebody else’s permission to begin building something meaningful.
Before you build a business, build yourself.
Before you promote a brand, understand your own value.
Before you ask people to believe in your vision, start believing in yourself.
Because at the end of the day…
YOU THE BRAND!
And nobody can be a better version of YOU than YOU!
